We wanted to take a minute to shine a light on one of our favorite new companies out there, Satchel & Page.
Taken from their website:
Based in Austin, TX, Satchel & Page is united by a passion for craftmanship and design, along with a fascination about what a bag says about its owner. Our products are handmade to order in the USA using only the finest materials such as American-sourced waxed canvas and oil-tanned leather. These materials are characterized by their subtle differences across lots and unique aging profiles. The result is that each Satchel & Page piece is uniquely different and will age according to the journeys / experiences of its owner.

This post is a little bit late, but we wanted to be sure we shared this nonetheless. For the last 5 months we have been giving away a pair of boots to a lucky Inca Boots Facebook fan. Back in April our winner was Jessica, from West Hollywood, California. We sent her a few questions about herself and this is what she had to say.

This is something we are working on for next spring. We are in love. You will be too. Something for the sunshine!

Well we made it back from our trip to Lima, and it was a heck of an adventure. We spent a LOT of time working on new designs for both fall and spring and we can not wait to start showing you what we’ve created. Not only that, but the artisans that we’ll be working with are true originals.
Sorry we weren’t able to do any blog posts while we were there, but the internet was spotty at best. However, here are a few pics, with captions, from our trip.
This Peruvian art is estimated to be over 1000 years old. They were masters at weaving textiles back then too!

Started by high school junior Alex Loorz, the I Matter March has a mission to empower youth to organize, and be heard on the issue of global climate change.
From their website:
“Since we will inherit this world, iMatter was created to reach across regional, ideological, and ethnic borders, to empower youth to organize, and be heard on the issue of global climate change. We are not only the generation who will suffer most from its consequences. We are also the generation who will bring about the change needed to create a sustainable and just society that values nature and future generations as much as short term interests.”

Crawling around on the internet just now I was checking out the website for the famous J. Peterman catalog (http://www.jpeterman.com/), and noticed that they were holding a travel photo contest. This is the photo that I submitted. I took it during a drive through the Andes Mountains just outside of Cusco, Peru and figured it would be perfect for the contest.
If any of you want to enter simply go to: http://www.petermanseye.com/contest
They have a very cool subsection for travelers on the site as well. http://www.petermanseye.com/travel
